Meet Cristopher Taylor

Dr. Cris Taylor is a retired research psychologist who lives with his wife, Peggy, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Cris and Peggy have a blended family with four adult children and six grandchildren.

Cris spent 28 years in the retail industry, working his way from a stock boy to a retail company owner. After selling his company, he returned to school to study clinical psychology at The Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, California, and research methods at the Harold Able School of Behavioral Health at Capella in Minneapolis.

Cris became involved in forensic psychology and wrote articles on sexual conduct and abuse. Following that, he became involved with the homeless population, has researched and written on the subject, run a homeless shelter for ten years, and continues to serve on various boards in his hometown of Erie.

Cris plays piano and writes music, though neither venture will win him any awards. He still keeps three guitars in his music room but rarely plays them anymore. He enjoys writing poetry as well as an occasional ill-advised political rant. Both Cris and Peggy have been avid sailors, owning three boats on Lake Erie at various times. Cris enjoys gardening and is a frustrated golfer, but age is catching up. Cris has written two previous books, not yet published. Shadows of Katahdin is his first venture into what he calls “The fascinating world” of fiction.

A Story Beyond One World

What happens when everything familiar is stripped away?

What remains when the world that defined you disappears?

And if you were given the opportunity to become someone entirely different, would you fight to return to the person you were—or embrace the person you were becoming?

Shadows of Katahdin explores those questions through adventure, history, friendship, spirituality, love, violence, and the wilderness of northern Maine.

Welcome to Fin’s journey
