Inside the
Story
More Than an Adventure Through Time
At its heart, Shadows of Katahdin is a story about transformation.
Identity
Fin begins his journey as a teenager from New Jersey still carrying grief, uncertainty, and questions about where he belongs. His new world forces him to confront identity in a far more literal way: is he still simply Fin from New Jersey, or has this new life fundamentally changed him?
Fathers, Sons & Loss
The story begins with Fin and Ray attempting to reconnect after the death of Fin’s mother. Even when the two are separated, the unresolved relationship between father and son remains an emotional thread running through Fin’s journey.
Friendship & Brotherhood
Fin begins his journey as a teenager from New Jersey still carrying grief, uncertainty, and questions about where he belongs. His new world forces him to confront identity in a far more literal way: is he still simply Fin from New Jersey, or has this new life fundamentally changed him?
Belonging
Ailen begins as a place where Fin is visibly different. Gradually, it becomes somewhere he is welcomed, tested, trusted, and ultimately begins to regard as home.
Love
Hurit changes the stakes of Fin’s journey. What begins as attraction develops into a relationship that gives Fin another reason to question where he truly belongs.
Faith & Spirituality
Dreams, visions, prophecy, Christianity, and belief in the Great Spirit intersect throughout Fin’s experience. Rather than treating those beliefs as simple opposites.
